The travel bug bit Lu helping his aunt plan itinerarys in Havana, Cuba in the 50's with "Morales y Soto Travel". 4 years at sea with the US Navy on Cruisers and Destroyers in particular cemented his passion for small islands from 1961 to 1965. Eastern Airline Sales, Liberty Travel Service and GOGO Tours in New York from '65 to '69 introduced him to Air Travel, Hotels, Tours and Cruises. He combined a successful career in Insurance and Employee Benefits with travel as a tour conductor and travel agency owner throughout South America, Central America, Africa, Asia, the South Pacific and Europe. His claim to fame is that you would be hard pressed to name an inhabited island in the Caribbean that he is not familiar with. He has combined his Scuba Diving Experience, Sailing and Boating Experience knowledge of History and passion for Islands with great beaches to identify his favorite island in the whole world,
